JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of how users engage with novel products and experiences. Preparing & conducting all research activities (recruitment, scheduling, research, taking notes, analysis, report writing, etc.).
- Partner closely with research leads/manager, design leads, product management leads, and engineering leads to prioritize research activities
- Collect and analyze user behavior via benchmark studies, lab studies, unmoderated studies and surveys.
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
- Evangelize research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations.
- Keep weekly syncs with the research and/or product team. Ensure research is a collaborative process with the multidisciplinary product team.
- Make sure that the research conducted is compliant with Research with Googlers guideline, standard research processes (e.g. recruitment, consent, incentives, data retention and sharing, etc.), and internal ethics and legal guidelines.
- 5+ years experience in user experience research
- Experience and comfort with qualitative methods (e.g. running moderated and unmoderated research studies)
- Experience with survey design and survey data analysis
- Experience in research for user experience design for product development (Tech)
- Demonstrated understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary product teams (PM, Eng, UX, etc.)
- Experience communicating with and aligning senior stakeholders (PM, Eng, UX, etc.)
- Comfortable presenting to different types of audiences (e.g. product teams, executives).
- Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to operate in a very fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented and ability to work independently on a variety of tasks and projects.
- Proactive in their approach to working and collaboration
