Job Summary:
The Mechanical Design Engineer - Nuclear Fuel is responsible for the design and development of nuclear fuel products, ensuring they meet licensed and company performance expectations. This position involves collaboration across multiple disciplines, including thermal-mechanical analysts, material scientists, and fabrication teams, in a fast-paced environment. The role is based in Wilmington, NC, and requires a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in accordance with regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and refine mechanical solutions for new and existing nuclear fuel products.
  • Prepare comprehensive drawings and specifications.
  • Lead technical risk identification and resolution efforts within projects.
  • Conduct design and production readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cost reduction and address customer and manufacturing issues.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, GD&T, and basic FEA analysis.
Industry Experience:
Experience in the nuclear fuel or energy sector is preferred, with a strong understanding of regulatory standards and safety protocols.
