Pay Range: $60- $65 per hour

Job Summary: 
We are seeking a Mechanical Analysis Engineer in Wilmington, NC. This role focuses on performing detailed mechanical analyses on reactor vessels, internals, and components to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various engineering teams to develop creative solutions for complex engineering problems, utilizing their technical problem-solving skills and strong analytical competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and simplify analysis complexity to deliver accurate solutions for engineering problems.
  • Perform structural analysis on primary plant structures to determine load and response characteristics.
  • Ensure Reactor Pressure Vessel and Internals meet stringent structural stress and fatigue criteria.
  • Qualify repairs or replacements considering static, dynamic, thermal, and flow-induced loads.
  • Translate design information into detailed analysis models using Finite Element methods and in-house computer codes.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in ANSYS and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical analysis fundamentals including stress analysis and thermal evaluation.
  • Effective communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Industry Experience Required:
Experience in the nuclear industry is preferred, along with a fundamental knowledge of ASME Section III and XI Codes. This role is designated for the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, and requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, contingent upon obtaining necessary authorization
