Job Description:
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day administration for SAN and storage environments, including:
  • Collaborate with Customer’s storage support teams.
  • Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned task(s), functional area(s) or project(s).
  • Support the design, operation, workflow and issue resolution for the storage infrastructure.
  • Help maintain systems level maintenance for storage infrastructure.
  • Responsible for tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth.
  • Maintain storage documentation, procedures and reporting.
  • Provide Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration.
  • Storage Allocations to server infrastructure.
  • Manage infrastructure events.
  • Capacity Management.
  • Monitor storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity.
  • Perform capacity analysis; analyze performance data and trends.
  • Responsible for tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth.
  • Problem resolution.
  • Problem diagnosis, resolution, and documentation.
  • Perform Incident resolution.
  • Investigate and diagnose raised problem(s) or problem records for root cause analysis
  • Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with best practices and Company change management policies.
  • Perform host-level tasks as requested to access new storage.
  • Interface with assigned client storage engineers to manage the implementation of all additional storage infrastructure and storage services.
  • Technical design, implementation, and/or migration activities related to Customer’s environment.
  • Customer Service and Support Services including: Break/fixes, installations, de-installations, equipment relocation, hardware configuration, onsite maintenance, and other billable services.
  • Projects or equipment installations resulting from the acquisition of hardware or software.
  • Host or application administration, configuration, or support tasks.
  • Installation, configuration, and support of electrical, network, telecommunications, and cabling infrastructure and components.
  • Database analysis or related work (Oracle®, SAP etc.)
  • Operating system changes or related work (UNIX® or Microsoft® Windows®)
