Contract Type: W2 Contract
Duration: 4+ Months 
Location: Newark CA or Southfield MI (Onsite)
Pay Range: $45.00 - $55.00 Per Hour

Job Summary:

This role involves full ownership of steering wheel development from initial concept through to mass production. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to create innovative, safe, and high-quality steering wheel solutions. The position requires a strong mechanical engineering background and the ability to manage the entire product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage steering wheel design release across all product stages.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to balance performance, cost, and mass.
  • Oversee Tier 1 suppliers for development and timing.
  • Support restraint system integration and CAE optimization.
  • Ensure component readiness for crash testing and homologation.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proven experience in automotive product development.
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to manage suppliers and drive technical solutions.

This position requires experience within the automotive industry, specifically in product development related to steering wheels, restraint systems, or interior components.
