Pay Range: $65 - $70 per hour on W2

Job Summary:
This role is for a Senior Data Governance & Metadata Specialist responsible for ensuring high-quality data assets and facilitating data discovery within a retail environment. The ideal candidate will manage metadata, enforce governance policies, and enhance data lineage using advanced tools and platforms. This position requires a proven track record in data stewardship and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and enrich metadata in Atlan, documenting datasets, tables, and pipelines for discoverability.
  • Implement and uphold data cataloging standards, classifications, and business glossary.
  • Define and enforce data governance policies, including RBAC/ABAC and compliance.
  • Build and maintain end-to-end data lineage for impact analysis and traceability.
  • Collaborate with data teams and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usability.
Must Have Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with Atlan or similar data cataloging tools.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and lineage principles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with modern data platforms.
Domain/Industry Experience: Retail experience preferred.
