Location: West Sacramento, CA - 95605
Pay Range: $18.50 - $18.50 per hour on W2

Job Summary: 
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our laboratory operations team. The role is responsible for accurate specimen handling, data entry into LIMS, and ensuring compliance with documentation and regulatory standards. This position is customer-facing, requiring strong communication and organizational skills to support clinical, pharma, and trial testing workflows while ensuring accurate reporting and timely service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and properly handle biological specimens for laboratory testing

  • Enter and QC sample information in LIMS; scan and maintain supporting documents

  • Review requisition forms and shipment manifests, resolving discrepancies when necessary

  • Serve as the primary customer contact for clinical, pharma, and trial testing processes

  • Ensure customer satisfaction from kit/sample delivery through final reporting

  • Maintain accurate logs, billing records, and reimbursement documentation for clinical samples

  • Perform quality checks on all deliverables and facilitate downstream testing workflows

  • Document and escalate customer issues in a complaint log and notify leadership of concerns

  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements

  • Train new staff members as required

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong computer proficiency (Excel, Word, LIMS, and data systems)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with biohazard specimen handling and medical terminology

  • Attention to detail with ability to QC data and documents accurately

  • Customer service expertise with ability to resolve issues effectively

  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory compliance

Industry Experience:

  • At least 1+ year in a laboratory or accessioning technician role (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, clinical, or lab environment

  • Prior experience in clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or clinical trial testing preferred
