Job Summary: 
As a Senior Payroll Accountant, you'll perform critical functions like preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close processes, while ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance efforts. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accrual processes and drive business insights. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellence in payroll accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record timely and accurate journal entries related to payroll.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all payroll-related accounts.
  • Assist with month-end close processes and provide detailed variance analysis.
  • Support internal controls and SOX compliance efforts related to payroll.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accrual processes and produce business insights.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in payroll accounting.
  • Proficiency in Accounting ERP systems, preferably Oracle R12.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Vlookups, pivot tables).

Preferred Industry Experience:

  • Experience in technology or high-growth companies operating in a SOX environment.
  • CPA/CA certification or pathway is highly regarded, along with Big 4 accounting firm experience.
